Troublesome cold starting

Troublesome cold starting
OK, I tried almost everything, but still we didn't get a useful answer.
'96 Ek4 and stock B16A2.
All of a sudden the car won't start in first try after it sits for a 24 hours (outside).
Starting the first time ... the engine cranks - turns but there's no indication that it will start.
When starting the second time the engine starts, but it shakes, rattles and I think it's running on just three cylinders. But after a few revs up to 3.000 rpm the engine runs well.
After this, the engine runs smooth, got enough power. It doesn't have any problem starting warm.
The oil and filter is changed. The spark plugs were changed a day ago (NGK BKR6E - II) and engine has spark. Fuel also. The battery is new, fuel tank is almost full. The car doesn't leak any water. The timing was made 12.000 miles ago. Distributor was checked and it isn't oxidized much - regular wear at 80.000 miles. Also there's no spark 'leakeage' from the wires. All the fuses look OK. I also reset the ECU, ohh and there's no engine check light.
This is the first time, that I have this kind of problems, but only if the car sits more than 24 hours.
I would like to chek the ignition cables, but I don't know how much is the resistance (in ohms) of the igniton/spark cable.
Do you have any idea, what could I check to locate the problem. I have asked a few mechanics, checked the local Honda forum and almost whole Honda-Tech -> no answer.
