Default bogging while using my a/c

We hit 108 yesterday, nice to have a/c. My 98 CRV is bogging to the point its starting to sputter, with my a/c on. Ive notice that when a take off from a red light, its feels like its bogging. If Im cruising like 5mph to 10mph in a parking lott, its sputtering to the piont it wants to shut off. I did notice my oil lamp come on while it was sputering but it when all away when I turn my a/c. Any idea? My CRV runs and picks up nicely when my a/c if off.

Yeah! Im about doing 700rpms, but I think thats normal. With the a/c on it drops to 500rpms, whitch is still in the range spec.

Are both fans coming on? Is it running hot? Is the condenser/radiator fins plugged? Is the A/C overcharged? these engines are notorious for valve recession. Perhaps your engine is in the embryonic stage of valve recession.

I think you got a point. Im dealing with multiple issues this weekend, im putting a/c issue on the back bunner. I think its related to the multiple miss fire issues im taking care of this weekend. Will repost once Im running better. Thanks and wish me luck

Failing compressors can bog down the engine also. The internal resistance starts to increase to the point of stalling the engine out.
Sometimes it will cycle the compressor on and off as it wants to stall but the ecu tries to recover the idle...
If like you said it runs fine with the ac off, the compressor is most likely bogging down the engine...
How many miles are on your ac compressor? 125kish or more?

I agree it is clearly a failing compressor. I have had 3 fail on me. I would say you have one season left the most. Luckily compressor are not too expensive and they are easy to change out.
