Impatient you are...
It's anywhere between $1000 to $1750.
Depends on who and what...
From what I've read BTW.

Depends on where ya go....

if you go all honda...$280 for bearings, rings are $38/each...another $100 - $200 in other stuff. Then you need somebody to put it all together. It will normally cost around $1000 or so.

If you go aftermarket, it will cut the bill by about $300 - around $700.

You can buy a used Z6 shortblock for cheap tho...anywhere from free -> $750. My jdm ZC SOHC block $150 and its perfect and runs great.

Looks pretty expensive, I'd just save for a B-series swap.

You can get aftermarket rings, mains bearings, and rod bearings. That will save you a ton right there.

Why? $1000-$1500 well spent dollars on a d16z6/y8 will put down more power than a b16a2. The d-series has a lot of potential. There is a guy named Bisimoto that runs a d15 (yes, a d15), doing 10.77 in the 1/4mi (naturally aspirated). Of course he has an insane amount of work done. My point is simply that you don't have to swap to get power.

your point is invalid because he probably spent way more than any b-series running the same numbers.

ANYWAY. rebuilding is best because you're basically starting with a brand new engine. you have the confidence knowing exactly what you're running and knowing the whole history of your motor
