Z6 HEAD SWAP PROBLEM
I JUST SWAPED A Z6 HEAD ON MY Z1 BLOCK FOR FUTURE BOOST PLANS. IVE DONE HEAD SWAPS B5 AND NEVER HAD A PROBLEM LIKE THIS. I GOT THE Z6 OFF A FRIEND THAT HAD A AUOT MATIC EX. BOLTED ON SMOTHLY AND STARTS. I HAVE ONE PROBLEM, THE IDLE JUMPS UP AND DOWN LIKE CRAZY. MIND U I STILL HAVE THE STOCK Z1 ECU IN IT.IVE CHECKED THE IDLE SCREW ON THE THROTLE BODDIE, CHECKED THE SPARK PLUGS AND WIRES, THOSE ARE ALL FINE. I JUST CANT FIND OUT WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH IT AND WHY ITS DOING IT. CAN NE ONE HELP ME OUT!! THANKS

did you swap intake manis too? sounds like the fast idle thermo valve. it's right under the throttle body...you take like 2 screws off and screw it back in. run a search on "fitv adjustment" and see if that's the problem.

look at the #13 box...that's the fitv. #2 is the gasket for the cap you need to take off...once you take the cap off, you'll see a white bulb thing with a slash in it. turn the white bulp in like a screw until it's somewhat tight (don't crank it on...just turn it until it stops.
there is coolant in there, so watch out.

ok i did all this, and its working fine, now i got a check engine light on. how do i check what code it is? i heard something about changing the o2 sensor when swaping the head. could that be the problem?
