z6 CEL after 6000RPM

Default z6 CEL after 6000RPM

I have a d16z6 and everytime i run it over 6000rpm it throughs a CEL, however if i turn the car off and start it back up, it does not come on. and my vtec is set at 5400. Any ideas?

Did you bother to read the FAQ located right above your post?? Check the code and find out what's wrong.

yes, and i stated before, i cant check the code because as soon as i shut the car off there is no code. it comes on when i hit 6k and then when i shut the car off it doesnt come back on, therefor i cant check it. This does not seem to affect power and doesnt effect how it runs. Still runs great

The code will still be stored if it's a obd1 car. Check the code.

it is an obd1 car, and i will try that.. So even though it doesnt appear to be showing a code its actually stored? Thanks

Correct, the code will be stored and will stay there till you remove the ECU fuse or remove the battery cable. Once you get the code, search the list and find out which one it is and report back and we can help you more.
