YEAH!!! Got My Header on :)...ah ****...whats wrong?
well yeah i finally got my rs*r header on my 98 civic ex...and we installed it and everything...i replaced the manifold gasket..but didn't replace the donut gasket....so we took it for a test drive...it revs up to redline pretty quick now..but the problem is...it sounds like a bumble bee now....i just had a muffler and it was deep..sounded great..but now right after we installed the header..it sounds like its straight piped..and when i get on it..i can hear...."right where the catty is and where the header ends" i can hear alotta rattly sound"..is it cause i need a new donut? please help..thanks!

change that doughnut see what happens from there..u might have an exhaust leak at that point...

Yup, you already answered your own questions. Install gasket. Also, did you torque to 13lbs?

And just in case its not the gasket, the day my buddy and I put my exhaust on his was rattling also. He doesnt have a rsr header but a different one but still the same rattle. It turned out one of the 3 studs that connect the cat to the collector was rattling, so we hammered it out and threw on a new bolt and nut and it fixed it. This is jik it isnt the gasket though.

Yeah, it sounds like you have an exhaust leak from using the old doughnut gasket. What you described sounds like when I had an exhaust leak in that same area. Damn GReddy downpipe.

i did the same on my car....the problem wasnt the gasket... the problem was that i need a larger resonator... as the exhaust is a lot more open now... also did you remove your cat?

I had the exact same one..except I went from a stock header with a donut gasket...to a DC header with no donut gasket...finding a new gasket was a BITCH though.... but it fixed most of my rattly problems!
