y8 intake manifold swap, 90% finished, a few more questions...
I searched around for a while about how to set it up right, but their is ALOT of mixed opinions about everything. Anyway, here's my questions...
It's going on my z6...so, I know the injectors won't really matter, but which fuel rail? The y8 is obd2, would this be a problem with a obd1 car? Some say the z6 rail won't mount right, and the fpr is on the opposite side. Because the manifold is off of a 2000, it also has the air injection ports (I THINK). Ricey, you talked about JB welding the holes closed, is this a must? I just finished port-matching it a for a ls tb, just not to sure about the fuel rail / air injection ports! Could someone possibly post a pic or two about it? Any help or suggestions is appreciated!

You need a 96 upto 00 fuel rail and regulator. You also need to plug the vaccuum ports... either with JBweld (must be flush) or RTV and aluminum can cut outs if you want to be ghetto and have it easily removable. ( I suggest the latter ) Don't forget to plug in your purge solenoid line

yep, and just use your OBD1 injectors in the Y8 rail. they were a little bit of a tight fit when I put my obd1 injectors in- but fit ok.
i have a couple pics, not sure if you already know all this:

Thanks alot guys, I appreate it. Let me make sure I got this right...I use the y8 fuel rail and fpr with my z6 injectors, right? And, since the manifold going on a z6, plug the air injection ( or "cold start assist" ) holes shown? The pics helped alot also, thanks again !

uP from the dead... so are there any y8 manifolds with an IAT sensor already in it? or will i have to drill and tap for my z6 head?

Not wholly true, the IACV (I think it's the IACV) on the y8 manifold is in a different position, with the y8 TB. It will work, you just have to plug it on the manifold or run a bypass on the TB.

Re: (Goullish)
bypass on the iavc in the TB?
so you are saying that i can leave 2 iavc on, one on the manifold (hooked up), and leave the one on the tb not hooked up and install a hose and loop the connections?
FYI...i am doing an auto to manual swap on my 97 ex, got a manual IM (iavc on the manifold) and i am trying to install a auto TB (iavc on the TB). Or i can remove the iavc on the tb and patch the hole left with some sheet metal and RTV, but i think it would be easier just to leave the auto iavc in place.
so what do u guys think?

Yes. Or, as in what I did, you can run the IACV on the TB, and plug the IACV holes on the IM with some RTV.

Re: (Goullish)
thanks for the reply, i think i will just loop the connections on the iavc on the tb...and hook up the one on the IM, hope it would work
the only reason that i swaped manifolds is because i am doing a auto to manual swap....(they are both y8 IM) just one has a iavc on the IM (2 wire = manual) and one has it on the tb (3 wire=auto).... do u guys know the difference between auto and manual y8 tbs? (other then the auto one has the iavc on it) seems like the manual one has an extra hole....

Yeah, it's not so much an increase in power, as a complete change in the power band curve.
The power used to fall of at like 5 grand for me. Thing screams to 6700 these days. Still slow, but the power is where I want it.
