Y8 compression???
97 ek 2 door coupe d16y8. So had to do a compression test on my cousins car today so i figured id do one on mine as well here are the numbers (1)100-105psi (2)110psi (3)110psi (4)120psi and i forgot to open the throttle so my question is how are these numbers considering i forgot to open the throttle, i would redo it but it was a parts store loner tool.the motor has 220000 and runs really well. Thank You for your input

Sounds low. Does she burn oil?
Also if your going to be doing work on the car a compression gauge is a great tool to buy. My compression tester was like $25 about 9 yrs ago.
Bt yea try to do the test with the tp open.
Number should be 180psi with no more then 10% between cylinders.
Around 120psi is low but it will still run.
Also where those numbers taken fully warm?

Go rent the tool again and do the test the right way this time. Warm engine, throttle open, ECU fuse removed. Closed throttle and cold engine make the numbers absolutely worthless diagnostically.

ok guys!! it was a mistake i havent had to do a compression test in a couple years and just forgot yes the engine was completely warmed up. But will do tomorrow and ill repost numbers. NO it doesnt smoke,burn oil or anything,
