still getting CEL code 22.
I decided to remove the toggle switch that was controlling my VTEC on my car today. It was being bypassed by just some sort of speaker wire connected to the solenoid wiring and then electric taped. I completely removed the wire and the switch and re-taped it so no wire was exposed.
From this point I'm confused on what to do next to get the CEL code to go away. The whole VTEC module seems intact. I followed wiring and everything looks good.
What am I supposed to do next to get this damn thing to work properly??

pull the 15a and 7.5(or 7) fuse out from the fuse box in the bay or dissconnect the neg battery terminal for 15 mins or so.

OK I'll try that in the morning and let you know if it worked and cleared the code. And also test drive it to work to see if the VTEC engages at appropriate rpms

Disconnect battery terminals, try to start the car, reconnect battery terminals. That'll reset your ECU.
OP, if I remember correctly, you have an OBD1 ECU, correct? Follow this troubleshooting diagram.
