are wire taps worth the ease of installation of a VAFC?
Doing this for a friend, and if it were mine I would just solder it in, but he wants to be able to easily return it to stock form without any hacking of the old harness should he decide to sell, but are wire taps reliable enough for the VAFC?

You will end up having to cut wires like the vtec solonoid, VTM signal and pressure signal. The rest you should be able to quick tap

cool, thanks guys......Personally I just hate quick taps but I can't think of any other way to not cut his harness! Guess I won't get to break out the soldering iron tonight! LOL

BTW, I recently resoldered my harness together after my VAFC uninstall. it worked out fine.

Don't do it. T-tap are a sure fire way to have problems with the install down the road.
Just solder the damm thing, or buy an adapter harness and solder that. Hell, they make them for the field unit, I'm sure it'll fit the VAFC too.....
