Wire Harness. Change it or Hack it?
IVe got a 93 CX hatch, i had a boosted D16z6 in there and its all wired for that motor, but it blew up so i bought a B18B to put in and am gonna boost that. I notice some of the plugs are different on my harness to the B18b, such as my ignition uses 2 pin connectors and the B18 only has one, also the alternator pin connector is different and i believe the speed sensor is different. I have a perfectly good harness so id rather not chop it up unless i have to and i hate wiring in general. Would i be better off getting a different harness or is that even more complicated that just splicing in the different connectors onto my harness? Id really like something that is plug and play.

use a non-vtec obd-1 harness...should be plug and play, unless your b18b is obd2..then you might have some issues with some of the plugs like you are stating.

i would just mod the harness you have now, its not the hard to switch plugs on harness, just de-pin, or cut and solder and shirnk wrap them.

Re: Wire Harness. Change it or Hack it?
I have hondata s300, so i should be able to lose the check engine light...
the motor is obd2
Im planning on just getting OBD1 alternator and a jumper harness for the ignition. Everything else should be good. Only issue is im wired for resistors and have to lose them to run the stock injectors. I have to try and figure out how to bypass the resistor box because im gonna want to run my peak and hold injectors when i run my turbo on it. Im plannin on driving the car for 1000 miles to make sure the motor is fine then do some testing on it like compression and what not before i turbo it to make sure its all good.

Finally, someone knows what they're talking about. From the sounds of things the OP has an OBD2 B18B, using an OBD2A ('96 - '99) Integra engine harness is a direct plug in at the shock tower plugs, simply use an OBD1 P75 or chipped P06 and the whole thing is plug and play.

Re: Wire Harness. Change it or Hack it?
Id rather not try and buy a new harness if i dont have to, too expensive. I am just gonna buy a jumper harness for the distributor. As for the alternator, i have been told i can just use my old alternator, the only difference is how it mounts. So im gonna look at that today and see if i can make it work. Im wired for resistors ron my harness now and i really dont want to try that again if i dont have too. Although to run the stock injectors im gonna have to either cut out or bypass the resistor box until i put my turbo on and use my other injectors.

Re: Wire Harness. Change it or Hack it?
Well, i took a different route. I just used my ODB1 alternator. Only thing i had to do was modify the mount on the LS. Basically hacked off a section of the mount from the D16 and welded it on as sort of an extension to the LS mount becasue the D16 alternator didnt have enough adjustment for the belt.
Might not Be the most beautiful thing, but it works.
