wiper switch problem

wiper switch problem
So the other day i went to wash my windshield by pulling back on the wiper switch and it felt like the damn thing broke (the entire arm switch thing). It has all kinds of play in it now (like i can move it in all kinds of directions) and I cant even get the wipers to turn off sometimes. I also noticed when I turned the switch to the lowest speed setting, I can hear a couple faint clicks coming from underneath the dash right by the driver side door. When I hear the clicks, the wipers wont even turn on. Do I need a new switch or something else?

I'd unscrew or snap whatever you do to get the cover off the steering column cover and take it off to get a good look. only after checking it out will you have a better idea of what broke and maybe what you would need to fix it from the junk yard, just sounds like it's on the steering column to me. Most of the time the turn signal and wiper are all part of one component wraped around metal column and easy to take off and inspect or maybe something just popped out of place and you can reset it.

If it's not working, and if you take it apart and you can't seem to fix whatever it was that you broke. It sounds like you would need to get a new one.
