Wiper problem
Tonight it was raining so i had the wipers on and off. My wiper switch has always been weird since i got the car, the int. position is really touchy has to be a bit past the acutal setting and low worked okay and high didn't. And tonight i heard a pop and saw a flash down near my feet and i smelled a burnt plastic smell and my wipers stopped working. Anyone know what the problem might be ? I was thinking maybe a relay for them ? Oh i have a 93 HB DX. Thanks.

The relay is actually located in the under-dash fuse box area. It's kinda big, next to your turn signal relay. First thing to do is check the fuse, then check the relay to see if it's functional.

pop and burt plastic sounds like you popped the fuse.
as far as the switch requireing a little extra turn to get it to work on int... follow this. http://www.b18c5eg.com/how2/wiperswitch/
there are ways of checking the wiper relay but it's not easy to explain quickly. Much easier to simply replace it, it's only ~$10 anyway.
If you'd really like it I can write up something.
