Will skunk2 camgears be a good upgrade on my d15b?
Since the d15b has a pretty aggresive cam...is it a good choice to get some skunk2 camgears and spicin' things up a notch? If so, by how much?

im not talking about getting another cam, because the d15b cam is already aggresive enough.

the stock d15b cam is aggressive? LOL. Neither the non vtec d15 or the vtec one has what I'd call "aggressive" enough.
If your car is NA (not turbo), then save up for a decent camshaft to go along with that cam gear.

and also this...about the d15b: Motor itself uses a P08 block which is shared with USDM D15Z1 (VX) and head is shared with the D16Z6 (si). Many are under the impression that it has a dual vtec solenoids(ala 3-stage vtec) but this is not the case as the 3-stage vtec is only found on 95.6+ JDM EK Civic chassis. The D15B is just like the D16Z6 as far as head/intake/solenoid and overal valvetrain. Camshaft itself is more aggressive then the one found on the y8/z6 motors (almost comparable to zex 59300). D15B is able to run the Z6/Y8 cams with some timing correction thus the timing gun and cam gear maybe required for the optimum performance. by eg6ajk

well first thing is a d-15 has only 1 cam and a cam gear is a cam gear they all have about the same adjustment they are all the same, the most you will see of the thing is 3 horespower

Re: Will skunk2 camgears be a good upgrade on my d15b? (trooper0641)
i like how everyone stayed on topic. I think we understood he is asking about a cam gear upgrade for his setup. Instead of being a tool, i'll try to help you. They run about 100 bucks, unless your turbo/high na.. yes. Right now, no.
I would rather suggest you get a new tb, maybe a b16 and have it pushed out to 64mm. Also.. port matching the intake manifold/head is around 100 or less.. and hondata makes a sohc intake manifold gasket, thats 60 bucks. Far better and a lot more bang for the buck than the bling bling cam gear.

why would you tamper with stock setting on a stock setup? This is where I am lost...I can see where you are going, but i would suggest a cam/camgear upgrade before just a cam gear upgrade. btw- skunk2 camgear i love mine.
