Default will a b7 head on a y7 block run decent?

ive searched and searched and its always the opposite which may be the same comp ratio i dunno. anyhow will a d16y7 block hold a d15b7 head and run decent this is just to get the car running and to and from some places in town for alil while i save for a new motor and build that...

btw i only ask because i have a d16y7 in the car now the heads cracked and i have 2 b7 heads ones rebuilt, i have a z6 head that ate **** a while back and i got rid of all my other heads and blocks so this is the only combination i can assume will work.

Y7 block, B7 head, Y7 pistons, and Y8 2 layer head gasket gets you a compression ratio of 9.248

B7 head gasket gets you 8.829

its will be a little low to get much of any power unless you have a turbo on it then it would be good.

thats cool cuz im just getting it to run to get me to and from work which will only be 1 mile away lol im trying to get it out the garage and stop dumping money into it so i can get a crotch rocket to save gas on and then im going back turbo later on to see how bad i can blow this motor probley

just ran into a problem everythings done i used a d15b7 headgasket..but i cant figure out a timing belt that fits it.
the stock d16y7 doesnt and i have 2 other belts lying around from past engines one smaller and one bigger, but all are too small for the engine.
i think the one closer to fit is a d16z6. ne one know what timeing belt would be about 3 - 5 teeth bigger than a z6?

get one for a 92-95 civic dx (d15b7) or 88-91 dx (d15b2). the d15 heads are taller so you need a longer belt. d16z6 one is a little bigger but still too small. i remember i had to get a smaller one for my d16z6.

oops that what i meant. thats weird though, i dont know which one to use. d16a6 might work because if you think about it thats pretty much what you made.

every things together and the car wont start. it started after a while of trying once after i reset the timing but cut off immediatly. could too low compression be the problem? ive checked spark and the spark plugs smell like gas so i assume their getting gas
