Widest tire that will fit?
I'm looking at getting some drag radials for my EG and I'm wondering what the widest tire size is that will fit? I live about a mile from the track so I can put them on at home and just run up to the track without much of a problem. I have coilovers too so I can raise it up when needed.
I was looking at getting some 11lb 15x7 slips with a 45mm offset.
BFGoodrich offers some 205/50/15s and also some 225/50/15s. Do you think I'd be ok to run the 225s?
Thanks guys!!

Since you plan on using them for the track and not as daily driving tires, I'd say go for it. It will probably rub in the extremity of your turning radius, but it'll fit on the rim nicely and it'll give you plenty of meat for hooking up at the strip .

If you're only going to use them at the track, I don't see any reason not to get real slicks. The BFGs wear pretty damn quickly and aren't exactly cheap.
FWIW, I'd go 225.

Re: (EG TYPE-R)
92 cx, 225/50-15 bfg drag radials, on 00 si rims, rub when turing all the way left or right on inside of car/frame, solution, don't turn all the way left or right. oh and by the way they might be forsale if you want the tires.

Wow, thanks a lot for all the info!
I'd run slicks, but I want to be able to drive it to the track.
80884: PM me if you wanna sell those.
Thanks again!

AND, a friend to watch my crap. I just don't want to leave it all laying around. I've done that before and I just didn't like it.
Easier to just drive down there since it's so close.

pm'd
i got 1.9's on these with my car boging....so i know there is more that i can get out of them....the key was running 12psi, short burnout, and they hook nicely, yea they are not slicks, but these can also be used on the street for those that do that stuff. these work good in the rain too compared to a slick, and legal too
i see your point about slicks....i have yet to need them for this car, the bfg's got my car a 13.30 @ 91mph, the run before was 102mph. i'm pretty sure thas a 12 sec run. but this is all off topic. so i'll stop.
