Default Why swap ECU's in a JDM d15b?

Just saw this mentioned in another post...

Had a d16z6 in my 95' EX, now have a jdm d15b. What's the whys and wherefores and how-muches and gains of swapping in a new ECU?

Thanks

If you are still running a P28, that should work fine with that motor. No reason to "swap in a new ECU".

a p08 is mentioned there for some additional performance, didn't know if there were any other advantages, etc?

The P08 is the ECU that your motor is supposed to have. The P28 is much easier to find, though.

To each its own.

EDIT: It seems like your answer was in that thread:
"out of the civic vti, the original car with the jdm d15b. like this:
d16z6: p28
d15b: p08

makes sense.... right? BUT... i'm running a p28 on my d15b, and everything is FINE! its just a little input, since you're searching for an ecu anyway, the p08 is a good option..."
