Why is this on my crankshaft?

The dowel is there to make sure that you put the fly wheel back on the same bolt holes.
like when balancing the crank, you dont need any whieght to be shifted from where it was previously. obviously you could just use a sharpie or something.
remove the dowel if your fly wheel doent have a space for it..
as for getting the wrong crank... dont think you got the wrong part because of that lil nub sticking out

Anyone else? The stock gsr (I think it is stock) flywheel does not have a hole for this. The pin seems to be pressed in and hole for it does not go through to the other side. I may use some vice grips and just twist it out. Just seems weird that there is a pin but no hole on the flywheel, or the Fidanza one that I bought.
