why is my compression so high? gsr 240 psi across
i just changed my valve seals today, the car started right up and ran fine, at running temp i did a compression test.. it read 240(+-5)psi in each cylinder, its a 96 stock gsr is this too high? isnt it supposed to be 210ish?

What cams are in the motor? That will have an effect on the compression test as well. I have seen many stock B series motors make 210-250 psi, so I dont think its that uncommon.

yeah but still could've been rebuilt and milled because it was warped or something, that'll bump up the compression. anyhow who doesn't like higher compression? lol I would go 91 or 94 octane see if it makes a difference

240 across the board?? sounds like a beautifully healthy GSR motor. high octane it like already said and dyno it.

around 200-210psi
my stock JDM ITR motor around 270psi (11.1:1)
what’s more important about compression tests is the consistency between cylinders
