Default Why is life cheaper when you stay single? EK Build

So Ive had a Sleeved Z6 block laying around for quite some time and got a hell of a deal on a EK hatch shell. Also have a greddy turbo kit laying around that im gonna use the BOV and Intercooler. I recently sold my 65 Bug drag car so i had no toy to take to the track which made more of a purpose to buy this car. Im shooting for low 11's maybe high 10's on a $3000 budget.

EK Drag Shell - $500
Sleeved D16Z6 Complete Engine - Trade
Ebay Intake Manifold - Free
Greddy Turbo Kit - Trade (Got this with my EG)

Still need
Pistons - Vitara's
Rods - Eagle's
Bearings - ACLs
Head Studs - ARP
Injectors - RC
Fuel Pump - Walbro 255
ECU - Chipped P28
Turbo Manifold - SP Mini Ram
Turbo - Undecided??
Wastegate - Tial 38mm
Downpipe - Custom Fab'd to come out the front bumper.
Transmission - Z6 or Y8
Clutch - Undecided
Axles - OEM's because their cheap as hell and if you lie like a dog you can get them replaced for free lol

Ill agree but seeing that it was free, has velocity stacks and is port and polished i wasnt gonna turn it down. After a quick blast of sand and a coat of krylon flat black its not gonna really stick out.

Vitara Pistons....I will always be weary of there pistons, that knocking noise they make....

Ive heard of this, but ive also heard that its on start up and while the car is cold, anyone else know of this? Im not to worried about it, im not putting a whole big bunch of money in this engine. After i get done im gonna start on a K swap EK hatch. Ive got another Hatch in the garage with Full GSR suspension, Xmember, Disc and all that.

who cares if they make noise? you run a silencer on your exhaust?

viataras are great for d series builds and can support some great power

Nope, Straight 3inch out. Its just a track car and nothing else so im not really worried about noise and if i go Ball Bearing it should sound amazing...

Knocking noise isn't good. If the pistons are loose they will wear out faster as well as the rings.

Im going with 76MM's really bad pit rust in the cylinder walls. Im shooting for 450hp, may try for more but im not sure yet, Im looking into going with a 60-1 turbo, whats sad is the turbine is gonna be more expensive the the car and the engine combined lol

that turbo is too tiny its a small t25 turbo. @ 14psi ur barely hitting 200hp. with vitaras u loose compression because they sit lower then the deck. id rather go with a cp piston instead if ur on a budget. that turbo is gonna max out before u hit 12's.

Ive thought about Crower Cams and Bisimoto's, but thats possibly later one, as for engine management, i was thinking today safe bet would be just go back to a S300, My Dap EK with the B18C had it and i love Hondata Products. Ill deff have Hondata in any honda/acura i own until i die.

Im using a Z6 head, it has better flow, and has a bigger combustion chamber due to the quench pads in the Y8 head, for right now im just going to run stock, i can pick up a used crane cam for dirty cheap, even though i dont like used parts. Its really just a debate, if im happy with what the car puts down on the budget build ill probably go full on build with a ported head, custom pistons and what not.

thats because they are made from a different material than the block and expand at a different temperature. you can get an oversized piston and have the block bored a little bit, but it may end up being too tight and you may seize the motor.
