because the type S ecu's have an immobilizer unit on them just like the 01 gsrs computer. It wont work with your vehicle. You have to get it reflashed then K pro or just reflashed but I recommend K pro but its so dam expensive. Or you can get a jdm k20a Type R ecu and it will work for like $3-400.

They are right, JDM ITR or Kpro.
I view the ITR is a temporary fix because you cant tune it and you can get surprising gains out of these K motors with simple bolt-ons and a good tune. But people run it as is without an notable problems. The ITR also requires a small change in the wiring for the fuel pump but its simple.
