Type R ECU into Civic Si?
Would a '01 Type R ecu work on my '00 Civic Si without any modifications done to the ecu? I think I heard someone talking about removing something from the Type R ecu in order to make work. Thanks.

the newer ITR ecu come with imobilizers, older do not....also not much can be gained, you would be better off with a chipped ecu (P28 or P08) + hanrness converter....less hassles and much more power can gained for the $$$

Re: Type R ECU into Civic Si? (eg6ajk)
theres a couple Si's from superhonda who hav the itr ecu put in. the general idea im getting is that it plugs right in. but others will tell you that 2 pins need to be changed. I too would like to know the real story. any one with experience?
No HP gains with ITR ecu from what i heard. but then thats not the main idea. its the more aggressive air/fuel ratio and early vtec and 8600 rev limit. it will alter your power band complimenting your other set ups such as cams.
if there are other ECU's that plug into 99-00 SI's that do the same. i would very much like to know about. im looking for ITR ecu my self, the prices i've seen run around 200-300.
