Why city lights????
I realize it is a JDM thing but what did Honda have in mind when they put city lights in? why not just have the headlights on? are the city lights just low powered headlights anyway? What is the point? I'm not hating, i want a set too! Just curious.

The reason is because in Japan there is no real need for headlights. The citys have very well lit streets. They do need some sort of light that tells other drivers that you are there. Ex. Japananese citys are like driving thru US tunnels where there really is no need to have bright *** headlights.

actually, city lights to them are what parking lights to us here in the states.
so their corner lamps are only used for a turn signal, unlike us where the bulb is double filmed. one for the parking light (1st click on the light switch) and the second is used for turning.
honda's aren't the only cars in japan with them. here in the states they are mainly for looks, but many car makers are now adding them to later models here in the states. just to name a few, acura rsx, scion Xa, Xb, and the Tc, even hyundai has them on the accent.

really? i don't think that's what the automakers where thinking when designing the cars. though japan does have bright cities, this is not the reason.

not to sure exactly if they blink together or simultaneously, but they do get wired up together.

It didn't start on Honda-Tech. It started a couple years back on Something Awful.

in europe the city lights are like the running lights in the VS. Where you use the corner lights (on the first click) we have the city lights. Our (orange) corner lights only come one when we use the turn signal, the side markers blink at the same time as the turn signal in front and on the rear
