Default Whos Got the Lightest Street Legal EG?

Just wondering how light you can get......

Mines at 920kg = 2028lb at the mo, with B16 swap, wanting more tho, or rather less.

What you got.....

Last time I weighed my hatch, it weighed in at 1987lbs with factory passenger seat and a dvd setup. Now it has another Sparco and stock headunit. Prolly a little bit lighter. That was with over a half of tank of gas as well

I'm in the UK so could be different for you guys, but try, local farms, local quarry or you could have a public weigh bridge, there is one about 10 miles from me, but never used it. I have 2 friends that work on farms so I just go there.

There's a guy with a 1650 lb street legal EG. Street racers in order to achieve what they want, will do anything.

Read this from the dra racing forum

I did Mike's (jdmDXrex) doors for his Rex awhile back but to tell you the truth if you're lightening stock doors it's not going to do much good to try to utilize the stock glass... I don't actually have pics right now as we're down at school (doors are at his house, at home) but it would give you an idea of how I did them... I'm extremely meticulous and it took me ~14 hours in all to finish... I first took all the panels, trim, handles, seals, windows, and regulators out before tracing using a sharpie to trace my line (keep in mind that you have to leave a litte reinforcement around the hindges and at the opposite end on the locking latch)... After the line was down I just used a rotary die grinder with a cut off disk, cutting the full inside face off the doors (this is really why it would be hard to retain OE glass as all your regulator mounts are gone, I'm sure you could make a custom braket if i you wanted to do so tho)... After that, I put 2 cuts all the way through the side impact door beam and remove a 6 inch section from the middle which allows you the little play that is required to wobble them loose... Just take your time, you can destroy ("dent") the door skin really easily if you're too rough... Once you've got that all done the door itself is basically done... I then very carefully layed a piece of Lexan over one of the doors, tracing a line which I then cut with a Dremel tool... This really takes a lot of time and cut off disks but it's also the most critical if you're trying to make it look nice... Once I had 2 windows cut out I filled all the edges over (smoothing them out), masked off the inside area on the Lexan, and sprayed the edges black creating a little trim... For attaching it to the doors I opted to use self tapping screws (even tho I pre-drilled everything first) so that we could remove/redo the windows later if anything happened (scratches, etc.)... Rivets look a lot cleaner and if you don't intend on redoing them anytime soon I would definately go with them, they're just a little more work to remove as you'll have to drill them out... Hope this helps and when I go home next I'll take a few pics (they're probably all rusted since they've been sitting outside but oh well)... Good Luck

Easiest way to get ur car weighed is to go to truck weight stations during the night and drive on them, u look in the window and u can see the scale.

ya this seems to work them best, for the money at least, if you really want the most accurate you could always buy a 4point scale for each tire lol and then you ccould also distribute the weight in your car better heheh

go to the local land fill that allows people to come in and pay for dumping.. they weigh you when you go in ... and when you leave..

just pull up to the entrance and ask how much you weigh.. he'll tell you..

my car isn't worth talking about.. my Sub alone is 47lbs
