White Smoke problem ???
Alright guys.. lets see if you can help me here.. I'm having trouble finding out what's wrong. I've got a 97 Coupe with a stroked B18 LS block and a 1.6 Vtec head. everything was working great before it was garaged for a couple of years.. after pulling it out again I changed all gaskets. Now I get white smoke coming from the tail at all times.. and more so when I push on the throttle. there are no oil leaks and the oil is not abnormal.. cylinder #3 seems to run a little rich and fouled up a plug but i believe that's fixed now. The car is showing absolutely no loss in power. It still runs great but smokes a lot when i take it out on the road. What do you think it is? And i have also placed new 93 octane gas and fuel treatment in the tank as well. My last place to check would be the Cat...

White smoke typically means that the engine is burning coolant. You might want to compression test the cylinders to determine whether the head gasket blew.

Re: White Smoke problem ???
The odd part about it is that the head gasket was just changed for an OEM B18 gasket a week ago.. and just drove it from the garage to my house which is only 10 miles away. Like i said before... compression test in the morning.. then we'll find out. I hope you guys are right, it's better than some of the worries that I have right now.. like maybe a hairline fracture in the head leaking some coolant. But thanks so much for the help. I'll post once I find out in the morning.

Re: White Smoke problem ???
I just replaced the O rings on the fuel injector and ran injector cleaner through the system. i slapped a new sparkplug in there and ran like a champ. dispite the smoking from the head gasket leaking fluids into the cylinders.
