aint no point in gettin a full tune for that price on a stock jdm b16, might as well get a street tune, your better off savin the money a nice street tune cost about 250, i say that cuz i got a JDM b16b CTR in my EG with hytec headers and got it street tuned and my bitch is nasty as hell on the streets for 250

600 bucks? thats a veyr high price for juist tuning

tell him to look around for a better deal, should cost no more then 300 bucks to get a tune.

anything more, he is being ripped off

NOW if he is getting tuned AND getting the hondata s200 or s300 unit for that price, thats a hella cheap price in my book, considering the price of teh s300 units

why dont you call up each shop, and ask about their tuning experience? get them to verify that they stand behind their tunes, like if the motor blows up because they tuned it wrong, they pay for a new motor

if they are unwilling, go to another shop. any reputable shop will stand behind their work and gladly warranty it against damage due to a poor tune

find their websites, do some research, and start asking about their previous customers, Im sure they would be happyn to spread their image around by giving you a chance to become a new customer

its all in the money these days, so be careful of posers

good luck

I would also check with the better business bureau...
check to see if any of those shops have a high number of complaints, if there are compliants (which is common) were they resolved in a timely manner or are there a bunch of unresolved complaints etc.

I don't know anything about those shops being I am in East Canada but in your place I would call up the shops and tlk to the people who do the tuning, see how they are, do they seem scetchy, do they warrantee their work and are they willing to explain to you how they tune etc. COmbine that with a BBB search (or look around on google for any complaints etc) and you should be able to make a wise choice based on that. good luck.

Why not post this in the Regional section or the Engine Management & Tuning section? I'm sure you'd get a better response in either of those areas.
