when takin the motor out...............
when taking a motor out of a civic...Can anyone tell me how to take the bar thing(dont know the real name)off....its under the car its connected to i guess the tranny and the bar runs to about the middle of the car. THere is one somethin like it right beside it but that one has a bolt and nut to take off.

Are you refering to the shift linkage? If so do a search for bitch pin, you will find all you ever wanted to know and more. otherwise just take an 8mm punch and a BFH and it'll come out.

shift linkage...
there is a pin you need to punch out in the lower one.. the other one has a 10mm head bolt you remove. there is 2 more 10mm head bolts where the shifter is underneath the car... remove shift **** inside the car as well
