shift linkage tips?
in a few days in going to be pulling my motor out and i heard the removing the shift linkage pin is a pain in the *****....does anybody have any tips on doing this?
i like to drop the end that is attached to the shifter and remove the engine/tranny/shift linkage altogether. then you can sit down and comfortably take your time to punch out that pin. much better then laying under the car, esp when your doing it by hand with not pneumatic tools or compressor. good luck

crawl underneath, hold the bolt steady to the pin, and give it a couple whacks from the bottom, should come out with ease....i think it was designed to take the honda `12mm bolt, its a perfect punch for this situation
when i first started doing this stuff, id spend an hour at least on some linkages, trying to use whatever i could...then one day, i undid the 12mm from the other linkage rod, it hit me in the eyeball, then i had a great frikin idea and trued that bolt, what do ya know
it worked.
