When to smog after Engine rebuild
I just got done rebuilding my B18C and put it back into my hatchback. So far the engine has been warmed up completely then changed the oil. Sunday I took the car out and did some pulls to seat the rings. It has about 20-30 minutes of accel/decel in gear in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th from 2500-6000.
As far as best for the smog test, do I need to keep putting more miles on it or will I be able to test it now? I rebuilt the engine because it was burning oil and failed the smog test terribly last year (unfortunately got gross polluter status also). Also, I cant legally drive it since the registration is incomplete.
I may also need a new catalytic converter. Although it is not that old it had a lot of burnt oil sent through it and could be toast. Does anyone have a recommendation for 2.5" diameter replacement (I have the jdm itr exhaust manifold).
