Can anything happen to the coilover springs? Can springs go bad?

How can you tell if springs are bad? Chances that springs are bad?

a spring usually outlast the life of the car, they don't go bad unless they're rusted through, which seldom happens.

Its not the spring that is broken, thats for sure.

What is your problem with your car?

if your shock is blown, the strut assembly will bounce all over the place, give you that feeling. Replace the blown shock and make sure there is a bumpstop in there.

Are you running a stock setup or aftermarket?

Heard an old wives tale saying if you press down on the strut area of the car (IE front right or front left or w/e depending on which assembly you want to test) three times and then let the car go - a good strut will stop the bouncing, but a blown one will bounce a ton before coming to a rest. Worked when my struts blew. Might want to try that to test your struts before you go replacing things that aren't broke ya know lol.

word unless its a late 90's ford taurus then more then likely your rear springs have just cracked in half. happend to my buddy's and to one of my old roommates cars. the back looks all low rider style and the fronts are usually cool. lol sorry its off topic just wanted to add that in there

you blew your shocks by lowering your suspension too much, hence it rides like crap. Learn to modify your car properly.

Seldom happens? Fords have broken coil springs all the time.

this wont work with stiffer springs

they absorb most of the bounce.

<I Tell this to a bunch o' people, GET TEIN FLEX COILOVERS they may be expensive but they are the best. If just the shock is broken then there should be anything wrong with the springs except an ExTrEmLeY soft ride>
