Default Wheel sizes with a drop

Whats up guys? Ive got a noobish type question and before ya'll flame me I did search. Im new to the honda scene, I recently owned Nissans (nx2000, Infinity G20) But came across a 97 Civic LC Sedan. Im buying wheels from a friend of mine they are Some 17" Enkei's with 205 - 45 - 17 tires on them, I know they'll fit but my question is will they fit with a set of Eibach pro-kits on them? I dont want it to rub at all. TIA for any info you can provide me with.

I believe Eibach kits don't go above a 2 inch drop, I can't tell you anything for sure...but I think you will be find with an Eibach kit.

im not sure how much the pro kits drop the car, but at 205/45/17 your at 1 inch over what is oem comparable. which is about 22 inch from end to end of the tire and rim. with 17's your at 23 inches across. so either go to 205/40/17 or get 16" wheels and then stick with the 205/45 tire size with the 16"'s

The ProKits drop 1.5" front 1.3" rear for 96-2000

I wouldnt go 205/45/17 on a civic period, let alone with a drop.

I looked again the tires are 205\40\zr17's - think that'll still be a problem? I have no problem switching to 16's but im getting these wheels on a really good deal.

i doubt you will have much if any in the way of rubbing issues with the 205/40.
other than 17's looking r1ce as hell, if theyre a good deal go for it

yea then your wheel/tire combo will be the same as a 205/45/16 (depending on some tires. some are wider than others like azenis)

so now depending on how low you go, you will have to see if you rub at full lock.

the Pro Kit springs don't lower you that much so i don't see you rubbin'...even with a 205/40/17 setup.

but yeah...switch to 16's ASAP!

205/40/17 will work, 205/45/17 is 3.5% too big or about 0.8" to big in overall diameter which is probably just a bit too big

205/45/16 will also work nicely for you.

Also try to find out what the offset of those rims are. That will make a big difference when it comes to rubbing.

And next time, post this in the wheel/tire forum.

The wheels are enkei vrs - Im getting those with brand new never used kumho ecstas for $500 - The deals just too good to pass up, If I can find anyone that has some 16" rotas or BBS wheels Ill most certainly trade. But till then its 17's. Thanks for your help guys!
