IIRC, the front bumper of a 6th gen 1999-2000 Honda Civic sedan is about 9 inches off the ground. I measured my neighbor's awhile back, but I've since moved.

Remember this section isn't just for one generation of Civic.

Well I'm particularly asking the 96-00 crowd, cuz the car in question is a 96.

I do know that the bumpers are different between 96-98 and 99-00, so the bumper measurement may not be accurate.

Anybody have a tape measure? lolz

The problem is finding someone who has a tape measure and a stock height car with no lip or body kit.

That's why I found the easiest way was to just measure a car that I happened to find.

Yeah, well, that's the way life is...

Look, my lip is... what 4 1/2 inch-ish?!?!?!

And, as you can see, I've hit a few things... so what?!?!?

One guy said 9 inch-ish is OEM!

My car is slammed but highly driveable, except in parking lots, over speed bumps and sidewalk cutouts.

Soooo...

The difference between my setup and OEM is speed bumps and sidewalks - neither OEM or slammed will tolerate parking lots, e.g. those ^%#$ing cement wheel chalks...

Hard parking and driving it slammed aren't new to me, I had a 94 accord with zero finger gap and body kit. I know how bad the cement parking blocks suck ***.

The problem is, we bought my girl this 96 civic, it has the Si front end so it has the Si lip, but IT IS TUCKING WHEEL BAD. lol

I think you can barely fit a cigarette pack sideways under the front bumper.

WHich means no, no speed bumps either.

We dont wanna convert back to monster truck status but she wont last more than a week on the current setup, before she smashed open that oil pan hahaha

what a perdicament..

However, I do have the opportunity to purchase locally a brand new set of GR-2's for $100, even though I know they are basically stock replacements, do you think they would hold up to a 2" drop MAX? I dunno.

w/ 15" wheels and some 50 series tires there should be about a 1"-2" gap between the tire and fender. I would having a 1/2" of fender gap is a happy medium
