what's that noise?
I have a 95 civic sedan with seriously stock suspension. The only thing i have done to the front is tokico shocks. Pretty lame. I 'm looking for a true mechanical advice i can get. The rotors are a bit worped out and need new ones. The problem is that when i brake i keep hearing this loud "metal against metal" noise. Almost like the shocks or tie rods are loose. Any help would be deeply helpful

I had the same problem and i got my rotors turned and the grinding noise went away. But you said they were worped so you might consider getting new ones.

What do you mean warped? How do you know they are warped?

How can you give lame advice like this screwdriver88? This guy, if he don't know **** about cars,. will end up spending cash on something easily fixable. Idiot!!!!!!!!
Don't follow this advice... Totally out to lunch. Warped rotors can be turned. It has been done since brakes were invented. Get them turned, the noise will go away.

If it's a high pitched squeel, sometimes all you need is a little disc brake quiet. But for a serious metal on metal sound, replacing/turning rotors is the way to go. And if they've already been turned once, you might consider buying new ones. Too much turning isn't good sometimes.

It's not a high pitch queel or scratch noise. The noise sounds like when you jack your car up and when you let it down you get that "letting your car down of the jack noise" I know it sounds stupid but it sounds like when you let your car down and the suspension falls back it place.
