What's my best option?
Alright, so i've got a '94 Si with intake, exhaust, header, short shifter, lowering springs, and 16"s. I want to go all-motor with her a) because i'm poor and b) for some reason I don't like turbo'd FWD cars. Now, the Z6 is the more powerful of the rest of the D series line up. My goal for this car is a daily driver that I could take to the track (road course) and have some fun with. I plan on tackling suspension first, then boosting power. My goal is about 200-225HP. Which would be my best option. By this, I mean, which is a better route for a cheaper cost.
A) Stick to the Z6, build it up from there 'til I reach 225ish
B) Swap with a B series engine (preferably B18)
The swap alone would cost upwards of $3000 if I do it all myself with the help of friends. We'll say (for ease of calculations) $2000 in mods on a B18C1 would bring the rating to 200-225. For less than $5000 and some good bargains, could I take my Z6 to 225HP down the NA route? Or would it just be easier/cheaper to swap for a GS-R and throw on some bolt-ons? My Z6 also has 130k miles on it, so i'm trying to take that into account too. What's your opinion?

I think the problem is that your goal and your budget are at odds with each other. Building a powerful NA engine is always more expensive that going with N2o or boost.

225 to the wheels or the fly? If your trying for the wheels boost is the only way to do that on a D series and still daily drive it saftly and reliable.
It would probably be cheaper to throw a H22 in there to get that goal. Get all your suspension stuff for, try the track and see how you do. If you still think you need to get that much power then look into a swap, or boost.

Hes right.. although I think a B18 might be easier to swap in, but for sure, id swap a new engine in.. 130k is pretty old..
