If both pix of them cars is the same car then yes...you have a 99-00 Civic Ex Coupe.

Easiest way is to look at the vin number in the lower left corner of the bottom of your windshield.

Ignore the first three digits, then the FOUR, FIVE, & SIX digits will be EJ8, EJ7, or EJ6

If you have a trunk or live in America...you definitely don't have an EK.

Wow, you need to never give information about chassis codes again, because it's quite clear you have no idea.

Here's a quick breakdown.

EJ1: 92-95 Civic Coupe (EX / ESi / STD)
EJ2: 92-95 Civic Coupe (DX / LSi / STD)
EJ3: 92-95 Civic Sedan Ferio EXi
EJ4: 95-98 Civic CR-X VGi (Del Sol)

EJ6: 96-00 Civic Coupe/Hatch/Sedan (CX / DX / LX / VP / GLi / LS)
EJ7: 96-00 Civic Coupe (HX / STD)
EJ8: 96-00 Civic Coupe/Sedan (EX / SR / VTi)
EJ9: 96-00 Civic Hatch (S / SE / Tornado / Illusion / Sport)

And I won't go into the EK's because there's just too many, but think of it this way:

EK*: Civic Hatch/Sedan in Japan, Asia, Europe, UK, AU, Africa, South America, Philipines ........ basically almost everywhere but North America.

As for yours, I can't tell, but it appears it's an EX coupe, so EJ8.

Haha totally wrong! You've never seen an EK on the road, and probably never will.

EKs ran from 1996 (1995 in some countries) to 2000. They were hatches and sedans. They were never sold in the US. Most have lower literage than anything of the same generation sold in the US.

A lot of people here in the US call either all 1996-2000 hatchbacks EKs or all 1996-2000 Civics EKs, but they're wrong. They're car will never be an EK no matter how hard they try. Honda made up their mind on what it is and save from having Honda melt your car down and remake that metal into a new car, it's going to stay what it is.

EJs... it's not even worth grouping cars this way imo. EJs run through two different generations. EJs include 5th gen coupes (all) and one fifth gen sedan sold overseas (EJ3). Meanwhile pretty much every 1996-2000 Civic sold in the US is an EJ, save for the Si coupe (EM1) and GX sedan (EN1).

So calling your car an EJ can cause confusion since we don't even know what generation you're talking about, much less which engine is in it.

An EJ is not just a coupe. Common misconception, but wrong nonetheless.

If you have the car in front of you it's easy to tell what the chassis code is. It's right in your VIN!

So read your VIN. It should be something like 1HGEJ814....

The fourth through sixth digits are your chassis code. In the example I just posted that would make it an EJ8, which is an EX in the US. Other countries got the EX coupe and/or sedan too, but here it's just called the EX while elsewhere it's called the 1.6iSR or some other similar name. They're all basically the same car though.

US 6th gen Chassis Codes

EJ6 - D16Y7 (1.6L SOHC non-VTEC)
1996-2000 DX coupe
1996-2000 CX hatch
1996-2000 DX hatch
1996-2000 DX sedan
1996-2000 LX sedan
1999-2000 DX-V / SE / VP sedan

EJ7 - D16Y5 (1.6L SOHC VTEC-E)
1996-2000 HX coupe

EJ8 - D16Y8 (1.6L SOHC VTEC)
1996-2000 EX coupe
1996-2000 EX sedan

EM1 - B16A2 (1.6L DOHC VTEC)
1999-2000 Si coupe

EN1 - D16B5 (1.6L SOHC VTEC Compressed Natural Gas) (Rare Vehicle only sold in US)
1998-2000 GX sedan

Read this for more information on what EKs are and such.

I also have the trim difference thread in my sig for USDM 1996-2000 Civics and have several other threads about 6th gen Civics that I've made.

Oh, and only the EX and Si came with moonroofs in the US. So since your car is not in any of the three available colors for the Si and it also doesn't have the Si grille but does have the EX hubcaps, my guess is yours is an EX.

So it's an EJ8 (as mentioned above).
