whats the diff between 98 hx and 98 ex engine?
i know both are sohc vtec but to they both have same type of intake arms same exhaust manifold and cat setup and same number of o2 sensors? hp difference?
i mainly want to know this cause since both are sohc vtec can ex parts fit on hx like header, cat, intake **** like that.

there vtec is different, the hx has (e-vtec) which give it great gas mileage along with the super long geared tranny. and it has roller rockers
alot of people speculate that this motor if it had car and attention could produce more HP and TQ then say the ex sohc vtec motor. for example a buddy of mine dyno'd his HX with a gettho turbo setup and his tq and whp were really close, like with in 5 digits of each other, and i think it was in the high 160's not sure though.

ok on that note could i say do a skunk2 stage one cam shaft made for ex engine and put it in the hx engine?

HX engines run lean. Its design is for good fuel economy.
If you install a performance cam, you might have to compensate for the extra air coming in by increasing fuel through an electronic piggy back or a progamable ECU

I'm not so sure that an EX cam will work in an HX engine.
I think the rocker assys being so different for each motor might make the cams non-interchangable.
I am just thinking out loud.
Can anyone shed some light on this?
