whats the best header?
I was wondering if anyone knows about a good header. I currently hava a b18c5 with skunk stage 2 cams with a JDM header. The motor was tuned and put out 227 to the crank on a bosh dyno. Wanted to help the horsepower with a good header. please help.
thanks.

227 is a hell of a lot. In fact I'm interested to know what else has been done in order to substantiate the claim.
Regarding the header issue, some are better for certain things than others and some perform overall better than others. The Hytech header is one of the overall best headers for making power currently on the market, however the price is over $1000 for it. The Toda header is also generally considered to be one of the best, but again it retails at $980. I'm currently using a Maxim Works header and making more power with it than I was with a friends Toda header, but it may be heavily dependent upon the fact that my engine is nothing but a stock B16A.
All you can really do is research the hell out of the subject until you can make an honest decision about budget, power goals, and other issues such as fitment, clearance, and quality. Good luck.

227 to the crank is 190ish to the wheels, in fact I think thats a bit low. My roommate made 191 WHP with a B18C1 I/H/E Skunk2 Stage 1's.

Whoops, didn't see that part. Definately much more reasonable.

Isnt that on a JDM SIR-G motor? so it has more hp to start out with in the first palce.

No, the Sir-G motor is just a B18C. The B18C1 is a US market GSR motor.

Nah, he's talking about my rommates car. Its an SIR-G B18C, but I just say B18C1 because 90% of people assume all B18C's are R's.

Nice numbers...What type of engine management is he using? Hopefully i can put out some numbers like that...And also how much more aggressive are the skunk2 stage 1s compared to ctr/itr cams? thanx

Hondata, and much more agressive. VTEC kicks in pretty hard.

Re: (BauleyCivic)
Amount willing to pay for a header unlimited
would like the header to fit like the JDM 4-1, good ground clearence
Engine managment using apex vtec afc and erics racing custom chip
tunned on dyno for three days for about 2hrs per day
was wondering if any knows someone with around the same setup
thanks for all the help
