Default What would you do? EG6 with new piston rings...

hi,

i could have a real eg6 (in germany we have them) for less money. but my "problem" is: one piston ring had already slipped. the owner had changed the rings on all four pistons... is such a revised engine reliable? (would need it as daily driver)

Thanks

If the rings are "slipping" (I assume you mean falling from their grooves...which is bad ), the guy who did the work probably improperly gapped them and you'll have blowby and oil loss (including performance loss) in the near future. I'd have the bottom end checked.

How do you know that a ring slipped? Do you have it apart? If so, rehone and rering the block and pistons and go on. A properly rebuilt engine is perfectly reliable.
