what would cost "loping"idle?
my buddy has a 95 gsr b18c1 and his head if fully built with skunk 2 products and skunk 2 cams ever since his head has been built his car was fine then winter came and his car belongs to the garage now but he starts it once a week just to make sure all is well...he went to start it last week and it didnt start so we inspected it and found a little bit of oil in plug hole #4 so we replaced all of the valve cover gaskets and all spark plugs his car started up fine but it was a little slow when it first started so we let it run til it got to normal operating temp and the thermostat opened then by that time his exhaust sounded "lopey" heres my best example:
bmmmmwaaaabmmmmwaaabmmmmwaaaabmmmmwaaaabmmmwaaa constantly his car sounded like this even when you give it gas the car idles the same way just faster and if you blip the throttle from under the hood and hold it at 2500rpm you can see the motor flex with the lope in it it seems like the car is losing power when it lopes? anyone know what the hell is going on?
all his settings ar at zero as of right now we know it is supposed to lope a little bit because of the cams but this isnt the same kind of loping noise we are used to

Vacuum leak, cold air bypass valve faulty, or idle air control vavle faulty.
One of those (I bet).
Another possibility: air in the coolant (affects IACV noted above)

vacuum leak. my friend had the same problem but ONLY during IDLE though..
so yours might be somethin different (or there's more) because even messing with the throttle, you say it still "lopes"? so I dunno
