your options are endless... your only limited by your imagination. but you can start by throwing a 5 speed in.

If your pockets are deep enough you could get a K20 with a 6speed, then you'll only have to worry about suspension and brakes.

whats the point of adding on performance parts if you can't even use them to their full potential??

You're not going to be getting much difference using an automatic.. Your motor puts out more horse power the higher the rpms.. With automatic you're not even getting into these higher rpms under your control. Manual swap should be something you should definitely do if you're actually trying to make your car go fast.

If you're really against that you should list what motor you have d16y8 i'm guessing.. And how much you're looking to spend off hand..

Things like camshafts are also another option.

I couldn't disagree more.

I've done a bunch of crap to my Civic over the years. All motor setups, multiple turbo setups, and by far the best bang for the buck was the y8 tranny (which you said you aren't interested in) and then the turbo setup. I/H/E are going to run you 1000 bucks all said and done, and make very little difference other than the amount of noise your car makes.

Lower the car on some lowering springs, a sticky set of tires, have fun.

Ha!! Keep it stock and enjoy the gas mileage! NO point in modding an auto-slowmatic

A auto to manual isnt that hard even if you are lazy. To be honest 5-speed is best, BUT I knew a guy a long time ago that had a auto ex and threw a turbo on it got it tuned boosted around 10-12psi and was mopping cars up around here!!! when the converter gave out he bought another automatic and threw in a ZEX stall converter and then he really started puttin it on people. Alot of people knock an auto I do to but there again if you get a good setup you'll be happy with it

Who cares if you get "whooped" by an auto, it takes no skill other than slamming your foot to the ground.

Either swap in a manual tranny, close ratio 5 speed from a D16Y8 or D16Z6 will do more for you then any amount of bolt ons you care to throw at it. Or if your dead set on keeping the automatic, throw a turbo on it, but be prepared to replace transmissions, they don't particularly like boost.

Is money an object? I for one can't afford the many turbo's, custom engine swaps and such. Just go with the i/h/e combo and call it a day. So what if you dropped a grand...

Or you could save the grand wait a few more months or so and buy an ls/vtec swap.

o wait...ur lazy.

do what YOU want. Don't just do something because others think its cool. Ask yourself, are you passionate about your car and its performance?, or are you just trying to do the standard mods because other people will think they're cool. Don't poor in cash just trying to be trendy and impress people that won't matter tomorrow.

If you want to be racy with an auto than rebuild your trans with some TCI clutches and a new converter.
