Soling storyshort im having Synapse motor sports install a engine harness in my 98 civic ex with a B16a. I orderd a 98 civic ex d16y8 harness but got shipped a civic Hx harnesss, i didn't know till I called today to see if my car was done. They told me thy already started installing it and it was going to be another 1-2hours to make it work on topic the 4-5hour qoute thy orginaly gave me and labor is $100hr. Does anyone know what wires would need to be ran? I feel like they should of called me before and told me it was a Hx harness so I could of returned it and got the ex harness. And not get charged a extra 100-200. When its all said and done its prolly going to cost 700 for them to wire it in.

Someone let me know what extra would be done to make th Hx work?

I feel like im getting screwed..

as of right now im pretty pissed they wouldn't of called and told me it was the wrong harness and that it'd be alot more instead of calling me before thy started installing it. I know they make not of realized iit was the wrong one till they started but still no one called to inform me. And I've always been a loyal csh paying customer so im ticked off..

Well I just talked to them and they thought it was a vtec harness cause that's what I ordered and was sent a Hx harness. They didn't realize till after the engine harness was being hooked up.so I do understand there side was told it should be 6hours work.. hopefully this will solve the issue that I was having with the old harness that water got on or im going to be pissed..

HX is a vtech harness

the harness i orderd was suppose to be for a 1996-1998 civic Ex, d16y8,5spd.
Synapse told me it was from a HX and had to be moddied to work with my car.


Here's a picture of the harness it does look alike but apprently it isnt'

a dead giveaway would be the 5 wire primary o2 sensor.

Ill have to ask the shop, as they installed it and got it working at a extra cost. The ebay seller had it listed and said it came out of a 97 ex which it clearly didn't and now cost me extra money which im pissed about.

I know of a guy that would have bought it from you or even traded you a y8 harness.
