you can swap a b-series in there and just use a ls tranny... they came in automatic... not 100% on the gsr
as far as i know all b16 and type r trannies are manual

You can pretty much get any D series or B series. For the B series, all you need is an automatic LS tranny. I believe that the CRV tranny won't work, but don't quote me on it.
However, you are doing a swap to be faster. Unless you are disabled, I suggest you not to come back to us after you spend a few thousands of dollars in your car saying a stock LS beat your gsr swap with I/H/E

I think all GS-R transmissions are manual. Now, I'm positive that Type R's are all manual.

Unless u plan on putting another D16Z6 or a D16Y8 in there I wouldn't do any swap unless it included an automatic to manual swap.. See Honda auto trannies are **** and if u try to put a lot of pressure on one, ur going to expletive it up, that's why all the high end motors (type R, B16, GSR, etc.) only came in manual. You can go with an LS like others have said, but I'd still recommend converting it to manual first. It's not as hard as one might think.

You're talking about me? That's my thread and I'm "that guy who didn't do the work himself". However, if you actually read my project thread you'll see that I'm a full time student with a full time job. That doesn't leave me much extra time to work on my car. So, why don't you explore who you're talking about before you open your mouth. Oh, and here is my thread incase you want to get some more knowledage about my project.
And here is the other thread where my friend Victor (Luserkid) did the work on my friends Corey' car: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1337459

Ditto. Never buy engines from ebay. Most of them are blown and then the company seems to vanish in the air

Re: what swap is suitable for automatic (fast95eg8)
A manual-swapped D16Z6 with I/H/E will probably take an automatic GSR in the same car if the driver isn't completely retarded, IMHO.
The only suitable swap for an automatic car is a manual transmission

ok we're off topic...
anyways, there's a JDM B16A Auto tranny, if you do a swap for motors it should be B considering you gain a cam and functionality. CRV tranny won't work, LS or a B16A (JDM) tranny is your best bet. You don't need to change to manual if you are wanting to keep auto.
