1992 festiva D16z6?
Hello folks!
Im looking to do a d16z6 swap into a 1992 festiva. I love the little cars and think they are pretty cool. Odd i know. But i dont want to do the b6t or any of the mazda engine swaps that are the norm. I love honda engines and of course there are tons of bolt ons, tech, and about everything else is found easily.
I have done all the aspire brake swap, suspension and all the other stuff. So now i need a really nice engine. I would like to stay NA. I would like to get 175-200hp from the engine. Dont even know if that is possible as a NA. But if not i would like to get about 225 with NOS. Another thought was a H22A with an auto tran.
So basically im wondering what i would need to complete the swap. What to expect out of a built d16. How much would i lose hp/trq with the auto trans? I live near Atlanta, GA. Anyone know a very good swap shop that can do the swap and tune it as well? Also a good company to do the custom axles.
Thanks to everyone for the help. You guys have some amazing people on here that really know their stuff. Thats why i come here.
Thanks,
Michael

Re: 1992 festiva D16z6?
i'd stick with a d series to start with ,but your not going to get 200 hp from it and have it last for more than six months (unless you have the golden engine).
things you'll need is:
money
welding skills
a nice hammer
engine /transmission
wiring harness
ecu
a basic knowledge of wiring schematics/testing wires/ cross wiring
axles from both cars (need to be cut and resized to fit)
custom shift linkage
custom exhaust/header
custom motor mounts
and....
drive to finish it in three weeks
