Default What to swap in EK????

I've been thinking about swapping a motor in my 99 EX coupe. I came up on some money recently and I've decided to go for it. One problem, I'm not sure exactly what to swap.
My heart is set on a B20/vtec but i've heard that is not very reliable. I can always go for a B18C1 but I would love to be a bit different with the CRVTEC swap, and of course the extra torque the b20 would give me.
Any comments would be appreciated.

Is it possible to put oil squirters in a non-vtec block?? If it is, wouldnt that increase the reliability??? I have heard that is one of the only differences between vtec and non-vtec block.
