about the zinc coated rotors, i looked on the EBC website and it says that their rotors are zinc plated also. there is a red coating on the surface of the pads that "scrubs" the zinc coating during the "break-in" process. i looked because i never considered breaking in my pads and rotors when i got them. i have had no problems with my set-up thus far but i will check my rotor and pads a little more regularly.

Powerslot rotors with Hawk HP Plus pads.

This is my second set of Powersot rotors and 3rd set of Hawk pads. Both are great products.

Yeah, I don't know what to get, I think I'm just going to go with Brembo blanks and Hawk pads.

Zinc is used as a sacrificial metal on the rotor - it oxidizes much more quickly and readily than steel.
Its only so your rotors look prettier...no function other than that.

Oh, and Im using Autozone/Murrays rotors with Axxis metals up front and rear...currently. Next is Hawk hps f/r (rear ep3 brakes ftw)

Agreed!

Brakes work through friction - and the more friction you create - the better, IMHO!

Same applies to tires, but that's a different topic.

Anyway, holes and slots run counter to the process, plus they shear the pads...

LoL!

Anyone ever wonder why they don't drill n' slot drums?

Same thing - pointless...

I run ebc greenstuff with stock rotors. i drive pretty hard sometimes. mine are going on a year old and still stop on a dime. i paid 125$ ( F&R) picked up from summit. expensive but didnt have to wait on shipping and well worth it imo.

I agree on the slotted or drilled... Not a good idea... I just replaced my rotors with solid rotors... No more shakey steering wheel
