I evacuated my system then recharged it and my compressor comes right on and works but then it turns off and ill go into my car and hit the recirculate air button and it will come back on and run for a little then it turns back off so ill go back and hit the opposite button which is the outside air button and it comes back on but does the same thing and I have to keep doing that to keep the compressor running. What could that be and has anyone else had those problems? Thanks

That is not a problem that is how it works. The compressor will come on and run for a while, then it will shut off so the pressures can drop and come back on again. That is the cycle of auto air. If you are not getting cold air and it is cycling pretty fast on and off you are low on charge. Anything else you might have a bigger problem like bad compressor stuck TXV or leaks. You will also need a set of manifold gages to properly diagnose your issue.

I have a set of gauges and my dad has done ac work before so he is helping me. I do believe I have a leak somewhere but it does that when we were trying to recharge it with the leak detector dye. He were having a hard time even getting it to get a full charge because the compressor would shut off and not come back on til I hit that switch.

Have you checked the AC pressure switch?
It does sound like your compressor is on its way out.
