What Pistons For a D16Z6
I have a Z6 that im changing out the crankshaft. and the oil never smokes or never burns oil untill i get above 5500 rpms then it smokes and burns oil. so im guessing its my piston rings. i have herd of zc pistons being good. what would be good piston to put in?

No you need to take off the head, they dont fit out the bottom, but you should be taking old the head anyways to replace the head gasket. as far as what pistons to use, it all depends on your goals. are you going to be going n/a or boost? high compression or low compression? are you going to build up this motor later on down the road? you need to give us more information before any of us can give you an educated recommendation.
try checking out this compression calculator:

either way you plan on building........get a complete forged rotating assembly from someone by eagle(just an example) and have it balanced. VERY good quality parts, you should have to work VERY hard to break any of that as long as the assembly is quality.
a good solid bottom end should always be the starting point for a good engine.
granted a complete kit from eagle is $1,400, and the balancing work is probably another 300. but you should have a pretty much bullet proff bottom end at that point......up to about 500hp.

i wanna turbo it later. but thats later later. i might just build another motor on the side for my turbo application i just need my car back asap for work.
I'm gunna get a D15B7 Block and a D16Z6 V-Tec Head. I just need to know everything to do to make the B7 Block to work on the v tec head.
