What OEM parts needed for Skunk2 IM install?(B18c EG)Few Q's
What OEM parts needed for Skunk2 IM install?(B18c EG)
Im currently running my stock civic throttle cable and a home made cabel bracket on the firewall for my stock GSR manifold. It says on the skunk2 intake mani. instructions that its optional if I purchase the type r throttle cable bracket and cable. Can I run my civic throttle cable through the Integra Type R throttle cable bracket which mounts to the SK2 mani?
Also the sensor which the carbon can on my civic hooks up to, does it disappear? I dont see a location anywhere on the manifold for this sensor. (Stock sensor on top of GSR manifold) Can I remove my carbon canister completely? What about the hardline it connects to on the firewall? Removable also. Reason is Im trying to remove as many things as possible from my engine bay thats not needed. (full repaint coming up)

I will also be putting one in this week. Post up what problems you run into if any.

you can use your civic throttle cable, infact it is better that you have it as opposed to the gsr one.
I am 99% sure that you can use just about any civic trottle cable braket on the skunk2 mani.
I don't know what kind of gasket you are going to be using, but if you go with the hondata gasket I would recommend getting extended stud bolts for the head.

So i do not need to order an ITR throttle cable. What about the ITR throttle cable bracket? Will it work with the civic cable? What about for my stock gsr throttle body? What do I need to change on it for it to work? Also do I order a new gsr intake manifold gasket or do I now order an ITR one?

I just installed mine last week, i needed a little fuel line hose to replace the pvc evap line. It mounts on the top now as opposed to the bottom, and then i needed to pull one of my vaccume lines off of the IAB stuff to run to the fuel rail.
Scrape the gasket off, and have fun. That was the worst part of the install.
I got my IM gasket from Advanced autoparts, it was like 4 bux and they had it next day, and it looked to be better quality than the OEM unit.
I have the stock bracket on right now, it looks pretty retarted, but hey it works.
If you have any questions reply back/pm me, and i can post pix also for anyone intrested.

you will not have to worry about the throttle body at all. It fits perfectly.
The main problems you are going to run into are with the throttle cable.
I would like to see your pics of the gsr bracket as well. Right now my throttle cable is being held onto a civic bracket with zip ties. It is a total mess.

These were my rough test fit pix... some stuff is still not attached, i have been done for like 2 weeks now though.
Its on the car and i drove it last night, fixed a few other problems and CEL's.
Heres more pix, the brakcket is turned upside down. It works for the time being. Until i can order a diff bracket, and the plunger thing too. For now it works.
The hood hits it, but i have no throttle problems.
And remember to tighten you iac bolts.
