what needs to be cover when cleaning engine?
ok i picked up some Gunk engine brite and degreaser at autozone and want to use it to clean up my engine bay. my concern is that what needs to be covered while i spray these stuff on my motor and engine bay. i would assume the battery and distributor would need to be covered up since they cant be wet while starting the car back up. what else would i need to cover up also? instruction says to spray and let it sit for 10 minutes then flush it down with a water hose.

Brake cleaner is the best.....
With the electronics, don't spray them directly. Use a rag to wipe them off. A little elbow grease goes a long way...

i cleaned my engine a week ago with Simple Green, had a great smell
but as far as the electronics, i just covered the alternator, distributor, and fuse box
i use some plastic bags i had around the house and seal them with some tape
oh, i covered my air filter on my intake too
other than that, i think you should be fine..........spray away

You don't need to cover anything. Spray away.
If you're paranoid, pull the distributor cap after cleaning but before starting the engine, and dry it out inside.
If you have an exposed air filter, you may want to cover that to avoid soaking it.
