What do you have now? If you allready have a d16-y8 keep it. You can get more power outta it for cheaper than if you were to swap.

If I ever were to swap...this would be it UNLESS the price of ITR's dropped radically

Re: (GERM)
right now i have a d16y8 and the swap would be between those motors because thats all i could really afford. i wish i could b20vtec it or boost a b18, but as a 17 pizza delivery guy thats no go for right now.

Re: (sohcMONSTER)
keep you y8 and buy a used greddy turbo kit for it and run about 5-6lbs of boost. way better than swapping for a ls or b16 and a lot less money if you keep it simple.

Re: (hbracer93)
why the hell are people saying k20 or a c5? those motors cost 2-3k more than the swaps hes mentioning (well a h22 is a little more), why dont you pick out of the 3 he put? i say b16 because the LS tranny sucks, and you can always upgrade bottom ends later

Yeah out of those I am thinking the b16a2 because I think it would be the best all around swap for you. But before you decide you need to figure out what you are going to be doing with the car. Is it gunna just see the street? maybe the drag strip? or even some auto x? Figure that out then figure out what engine you want.

Keep the d16y8. Unless your balling dont get a swap. Theres no point in spending upwards of 2000 for a b16 swap when all your gaining basically is an additional cam.
Either go with a build n/a or go turbo with that sucker.

Re: (VtecAddict96)
if your going to swap, at least up your displacement. to spend 2000 on a b16 just to get that extra cam doesn't make too much sense to me. save at least for a b18c1 - best swap to do for the money in my opinion.
a b16 is a good engine for sure, but a b18 is much better, and well worth the extra money. b20 vtec is great if you sleeve the block and build it properly - same for b18b vtec. h22 is also good if you don't mind hacking your car up, and the lousy tranny. k20 is still too expensive at this point, but in five years look out.
there's nothing wrong with your d16 either, but the b / h / k are better engines - period. just get the b18c1 or build the d...
